Background
A graduate of Henderson High School in West Chester, PA and Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA, Laura passed away in June 2008,at the age of 29, from lung cancer. La had a passion for sports and played both lacrosse and soccer at Henderson. She went on to play soccer for the Dragons and is known as one of the greatest players in Drexel women’s soccer history; Laura left an outstanding legacy. Dan Simmons, Associate Athletic Director of Recreation, said, “I remember her at the end of her career, she was the type of person you wanted on a Drexel team. She was always full of energy and always smiling.” After graduating Drexel in 2002, Koch worked for the Veterinary Referral Center in Frazer, a 24-hour emergency care center, and loved to nurture animals. To honor the memory of La and her energy, compassion, and love of life., the Laura Meikle Koch Memorial Legacy Foundation, has been established with the Chester County Community Foundation.
